Artist Series – Blue Botanics with Hannah Fletcher / Sunday 2nd June


Learn all about Cyanotypes with artist Hannah Fletcher. Moving between the darkroom and a local park you’ll source your own leaves & flowers before using them to make your botanical Cyanotypes. You’ll also by trying flower pounding to add highlights to the final pieces. Hannah Fletcher is co-director of London Alternative Photography Collective, a specialist in alternative techniques and exhibits internationally. Most recently she’s taken the collective to exhibit as part of Unseen photo festival, Amsterdam.

Sunday 2nd June

11am : Meet at Bright Rooms

11.15 – 12 : Learn how to mix cyanotype chemistry and apply to your natural materials.

12 – 12.45 : Whilst the material is drying take a walk in the local park to collect your specimens!

12.45 – 1.30: Break

1.30 – 3 : You’ll be making some test pieces and once your happy with you idea you can compose and make your cyanotype using our large scale UV exposure unit. You’ll also be making negative cyanotypes using stencils and experimenting with flower pounding techniques to bring an extra visual element to you final work.
